Consultation on the two year provisional authorisation of four Cobalt(II) compounds for use in animal nutrition in Scotland

This consultation is conducted by Food Standards Scotland (FSS) on behalf of the Minister for Public Health and Women’s Health and seeks stakeholders’ views, comments and feedback in relation to the proposed two year provisional authorisation for the following four Cobalt(II) compounds used as feed additives;
Why your views matter
This consultation will be of interest to the agri-feed trade associations, feed businesses, manufacturers’ of feed additives, local authorities and feed officers and others with an interest in feed additives.
Stakeholders are invited to consider the questions in section 8 of the consultation, provide views on the proposed two year provisional authorisation for the four Cobalt(II) compounds until 14 July 2028 and consider the impacts of the four Cobalt(II) compounds to animal health and welfare and safety for users, consumers and the environment.
This is an opportunity for stakeholders to express views on the proposed two year provisional authorisation for Cobalt(II) compounds which Scottish ministers will use to inform their decision making. FSS considers this crucial to the process of transparent policymaking.
Following the end of the consultation, responses will be published and made available to stakeholders, the Food Standards Agency and Scottish Ministers.
