Easy step by step guide for all types of business would help shape and drive forward change
Depending on where food is being made available - some high calorie items should remain but be highlighted in RED - not if a hospital has a visitors café - a patient may eat there with visitors and additional calories would be in some cases of great benefit, along with eating disorders - such as anorexia or mental health issues where high calories are a benefit this is where portion sizes could be used (reducing)
People of Scotland need to be educated in food buying/cooking and understanding from a very early stage in life and parents should be held responsible for allowing children to much "bad food"

Smaller options would be a great choice - rather than offer half portions offer different portion sizes
offer additional "healthy" sides such as vegetables, baked potato, piece of fruit

Please explain your answer
Not applicable to me

Mandatory or voluntary calorie labelling at the point of choice

7. Should calorie labelling at point of choice be made mandatory in Scotland?

Please select one item
Radio button: Ticked Yes
Radio button: Unticked No
Please explain your answer.
It should not exclude any business regardless of size - it should be once for Scotland approach
although I believe it should be once for the UK approach so that all businesses - such as a coffee shop chains means that everyone would recognise and understand the labelling

8. Should any business be exempt from mandatory calorie labelling at the point of choice?

Although - this could lead to skipped calories if the whole product is not consumed - for example (half of the roll, none of the salad) but the overall calories would be a great start especially "Per Portion Served"

Food provided in the vicinity of schools

12. What types of actions could be taken to improve the food provided Out of Home in the vicinity of schools?

free text
Local shops and businesses near schools should offer better choices and encourage these choices by offering less HFSS foods
bring back subjects such as "home economics" which should be made compulsory for at least 1 year that teaches all the benefits of healthy choices, giving basic tools sets for understanding calories/food choices/health along with basic cooking skills

Enabling change

14. Do you agree that recognition schemes are an effective means of supporting healthier eating in the Out of Home sector?

Please select one item
Radio button: Ticked Yes
Radio button: Unticked No
If yes, please outline your views on the key components required for a flexible recognition scheme(s)
I currently believe that may of the schemes need to be re-looked at to update them
I currently believe that for example the HRS is not effective due to lack of understanding by the people running or pushing the programme
If people are not educated enough to understand what the benefits are then not any one scheme will be successful
- health choices of food
- affordability
- better labelling
- easy to understand
- calorie and fat counter made available that is designed and free for every one
- doctors/nurses understanding nutrition and advising

The public sector as an exemplar

Inequality

16. Would the proposals outlined in this consultation impact on the people of Scotland with respect to:

Please explain your answer, considering both potentially positive and negative impacts, supported by evidence, and, if applicable, advise on any mitigating actions we should take.
I think that all people regardless of circumstances such as high deprived areas, can still have access to healthier foods (not rely on convenience), lots of supermarkets offer foods such as vegetables, potatoes, bread, milk at cheap affordable prices, so further education and understanding by all - could help drive forward better health benefits
free school meals and drinks
Investment in people and skills would be a great advantage for driving change
