The Proposed Food and Feed (EU Exit) (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations
Overview
This consultation concerns proposed technical amendments to food and feed safety and hygiene, food compositional standards, labelling and nutrition labelling domestic legislation applying in Scotland to ensure that this legislation can continue to operate after implementation period (IP) completion day and takes into account the Northern Ireland Protocol (NIP). The wider implications of the NIP are currently under consideration and are outside the remit of this consultation.
As the UK left with a transition period, this now needs to be reflected in Scottish Domestic Legislation. The majority of the proposed amendments are technical in nature, and focussed on ensuring continued operability rather than substantial policy changes.
Why your views matter
We want to seek the views of enforcement authorities, food and animal feed businesses, consumers groups, other stakeholders and the wider public as to the proposed amendments and to ensure Scottish domestic legislation can continue to operate after IP completion day and considers the Northern Ireland Protocol.
