FSS asked respondents for their views on the newly developed guidance on Food Traceability, Withdrawals and Recalls within the UK Food Industry.

You said

Respondents were broadly supportive of the guidance and supporting tools.  Comments received from respondents on the type of information that they wish to see included in the quick reference guide which would support the overarching guidance document.

We did

Consultation responses were used to refine our final guidance document which was published on 12th March 2019.  Quick reference guide currently being produced taking into account the comments received as part of the consultation responses.

Food Standards Scotland would welcome your comments on newly developed guidance which will assist food enforcement authorities and Food Business Operators  in complying with food law and dealing with food withdrawals and recalls.  

 

Why your views matter

The purpose of this consultation is to seek comments on newly developed guidance on Food Traceability, Withdrawals and Recalls within the UK Food Industry.  The guidance aims to promote clarity and consistency for FBOs and food enforcement authorities across the UK and will replace the Guidance Notes to Food Business Operators on Food Safety, Traceability, Product Withdrawals and Recalls previously issued in 2007.

Consultation responses will be analysed and feedback will be provided following the consultation.
