Questionnaire to support the development of the UK response in relation to the report from Codex Committee on Food Hygiene - Electronic Working Group on Revisions to the General Principles of food Hygiene
Overview
The Codex Committee on Food Hygiene established an Electronic Working Group (EWG) to revise the General Principles of Food Hygiene. The UK has been leading this work with France, Ghana, India Mexico and the United States of America as co-Chairs. Comments on the report from the EWG have been requested from member countries in preparation for discussions during the plenary session of CCFH 13-17 November in Chicago.
Why your views matter
We are requesting stakeholder comments to support development of the UK response to the report. The Electronic Working Group (EWG) has recommended agreement is reached on some fundamental issues before text is developed further. As a result at this stage we are asking responses focus on the issues highlighted by the EWG and these are provided on this consultation questionnaire. We need to include the rationale for our comments in the response to Codex so we are also asking stakeholders to provide justification for views included in the questionnaire.
Please respond by 20 September 2017 to enable us to meet the Codex deadline for submission of comments. For further information, please contact: FoodEnquiries@fss.scot
