Food Standards Scotland strategy 2026 to 2031
Overview
Food Standards Scotland was established in 2015 as the public sector food body for Scotland and we are independent of government and industry. Our remit covers all aspects of the food chain which can impact on public health – aiming to protect consumers from food safety risks and promote healthy eating.
We’re looking for feedback on the draft strategy for Food Standards Scotland for 2026-31 from the public, local authorities and those working across the food system in Scotland.

The draft strategy sets out our priorities for delivering our vision for a safe, authentic and healthier food environment that Scotland can trust.
We welcome your feedback to help us finalise the strategy that will be published in 2026.
